Formerly the Vice President of Marketing, Commercial Services, with North Prairie Developments, a $90 million company, and the previous Vice President of Corporate Relations for Innovation Place, involved with the development of this world renowned research park system basically since its inception, Austin has a diverse background in facilities planning, development and management. Combined with his knowledge of marketing, promotion and communications, human resource management and strategic planning, as well as his businesslike approach to organizations needs, Austin acts in the best interests of the organization at all times.

CEO, Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan Inc., Saskatoon, Sask.

 

Outcomes:

- Developed the organization from a relatively unknown start-up, to a widely recognized, credible business organization with over 900 members across the province, $30.0 million in lending activity and $20 million in leveraged financing from other institutions, creating jobs and economic activity in the province.

Western Economic Diversification Canada

                              

Responsibilities:

- Project Development and Management;

- Develop project proposals to meet funding requirements;

- Analyze and evaluate proposals submitted to WD and make recommendations as to the form and conditions of financial assistance;

- Review and analyse budgets and pro-forma statements;

- Monitor projects as to progress and compliance.

- Pan-western and Strategic Initiatives;

- In conjunction with industry players, work on a western basis to resolve issues affecting industry productivity, development and growth;

- Liaise with other federal and provincial agencies, industry and business representatives, and program related groups to assist in attaining the departmental objectives of regional economic development;

- Carry out research and studies that support program assessment and development on a pan-western, strategic initiative basis;

- Assist in policy development and implementation.

 

Achievements:

  • Performed the duties of Manager, Business Development on an acting basis, which involved the management of up to eight professional staff.

  • Assisted business firms and industries in Saskatchewan to increase their competitiveness and success in the global market place.
